Can I Transfer My Assets Before I File Bankruptcy?

Ohio Bankruptcy Attorney Wayne Novick answers this question with a resounding NO !  I agree, and echo his commentary to always seek advice of a competent bankruptcy attorney before transferring anything of value

Often, we see folks that have transferred an asset, then come to visit with us.  If they had only consulted an attorney before they made the transfer, then the asset could have been exempted and protected.  Once the asset is transferred, you can’t undo the transfer.  As I often tell clients who ask about why they can’t simply have the person they transferred it to transfer it back to them, you can’t “unring a bell”
